A scientific article by Anatoli Unitsky and his co-authors describes the unique development for uPods braking

The innovation can become the basis for the design and start of production of non-volatile security systems. The research results are published in the scientific and practical journal “Innovative Transport Systems and Technologies.”

An urgent task in the development of uST transport and infrastructure complexes is to ensure safe braking in case of emergency situations, as well as entering sharp turns, approaching parking areas and stopping at high speeds. Mechanical braking is not always able to ensure a safe stop of the vehicle, especially when the components of the braking system are worn out or when in adverse weather conditions.

Eddy current retarders developed under the guidance of Anatoli Unitsky make it possible to solve this problem and minimize the number of wear products. The braking force here arises due to the interaction of magnetic fields, while also having zero mechanical contact in such a braking system.
