Anatoli Unitsky: "We must step away from environmentally hazardous solutions in transportation, infrastructure, and energy"

On International Earth Day, the author of string transport spoke out to protect the environment.

Today is International Mother Earth Day.

Every year on this date, more than a billion people remember their duty to the planet and play an active role in environmental initiatives, whether it is cleaning up, planting trees or participating in specialized conferences.

That's wonderful.

However, how many times do we clean our homes? Do we also remember to clean only once a year?

The resolution proclaiming International Earth Day emphasizes that the planet and its ecosystems are our home. And we must live in harmony with nature if we want to reach a balance between the environmental, economic and social needs of today's and future generations.

But humanity continues to live like mold in a petri dish, consuming and poisoning the environment with its waste products. And once people consume all of the Earth's limited resources, they will inevitably perish…

One-time activities to protect the environment make little difference. Preservation of the planet's biosphere should become a systematic and integral process of our lives, like brushing our teeth or cleaning our homes. Therefore, we should radically reform our civilization and switch to other technologies friendly to nature and man.

I talk about this in my global EcoSpace program. We must step away from environmentally hazardous solutions in transportation, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and even space exploration. Humanity needs a new habit in the logic of "Build and Gain", not "Divide and Conquer". Only then we will have a chance for a balanced, bright future in unity with nature.

Happy Earth Day, my dear friends!
