On the Modernization of the 48-Seat uBus and Noise Reduction

The Innotrans journal published a scientific article by Anatoli Unitsky in co-authorship with employees of Unitsky String Technologies Inc.

The article describes the experience in modernizing the U4-220-T2 uBus, which was done to reduce the noise level. Among other things, the suspension, climate and ventilation systems were improved.

After the modernization, the noise level of the uBus was compared with that of the subway and streetcar. The results revealed that the internal and external noise levels of the uBus are much lower than those of the above modes of transportation.

The U4-220-T2 uBus is a suspended unmanned electric car on steel wheels. It consists of two modules and is designed to carry 48 passengers. The uBus is powered by an on-board storage unit, a proprietary development of Unitsky String Technologies Inc.
