President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, discussed plans for the implementation of high-speed road networks to connect Minsk with its satellite towns. And string transport could play a key role.
The President mentioned the issue of overpopulation in the capital, and he also said that the example of neighboring countries shows the problems of traffic jams, a very large number of cars and the need to build huge-scale interchanges, roads.
The head of state pointed out that Belarus should be building new roads. And not only railroads and highways — the country should also improve other means of communication.
In this context, Alexander Lukashenko mentioned string transport:
"I know that string transport is also being developed, and there are already many advancements in the world. Therefore, we should move in this direction, and during the next five-year period, we must address the issues concerning satellite towns, especially those around Minsk. This should be a separate program or a subprogram as part of the 'Roads of Belarus' project".
It’s worth noting that earlier this summer, Lukashenko had also mentioned string transport as a potential technology to connect the satellite towns of Minsk.
uST technology could become the ideal solution for Belarusian urban areas. String transport operates on a second level, helping to alleviate road congestion, eliminate traffic jams, and reduce accidents. uPods are safe and comfortable, produce no exhaust emissions, and do not harm the environment. Moreover, uST complexes require minimal land acquisition, have low material consumption in their structures, and do not require the erection of interchanges or drainage systems, making construction not only cheaper but also faster.
