String Transport Featured on International TV Channel MIR 24

In the [Not] Science Fiction program, Anatoli Unitsky, General Designer at Unitsky String Technologies Inc., spoke about how uST transport and infrastructure complexes operate and shared his vision for the future of global transport.

Filming took place at EcoTechnoPark in Maryina Gorka, which houses the company’s testing facilities, demonstration routes and engineering infrastructure. The episode featured uST rolling stock in operation, track structures and facilities used to test vehicles and refine engineering solutions.

Speaking with host Ruslan Turkov, Anatoli Unitsky explained why modern transport systems face mounting challenges related to limited space, high infrastructure costs and environmental pressures. In his view, one of the most effective ways to address these challenges is to elevate transport above ground—to the “second level.”

This approach helps preserve land resources, reduce the impact on natural ecosystems and improve transport efficiency. Elevating the track structure allows existing transport links to remain in place, leaves space below for people, animals and agricultural machinery, and reduces the scale of construction work required.

The program also highlighted the environmental advantages of uST technology. Electric traction eliminates direct exhaust emissions during operation, while the lightweight track structure requires significantly less construction materials than many conventional infrastructure solutions.

“Transport must move to the second level, and it must be string-based,” Anatoli Unitsky noted.

During the interview, Unitsky also discussed the uPod models developed by the company, the prospects for high-speed transport, and potential applications on urban, interregional and international routes. The discussion also covered the development and economic viability of transport and infrastructure corridors, with the Minsk–Moscow project serving as an example.
